she/they | a time-displaced pokémon trainer

the idea behind winter is just "what if a character experienced pokémon legends: arceus, then got sent forward too far in time? also what if she realized she was a girl while she was in the past lol" she's a bit on the cautious side, especially around unfamiliar pokémon - getting jumpscared one too many times in the grass will do that to a girl - but she's quick to relax as soon as she knows there's no threat.

the moment winter woke up in the past, all that time ago, and was presented with the question of who she was... she finally, finally chose a name and life for herself. made the terrifying jump between the boy whose identity was handed to him by his parents, to being winter perl.

(she chose that name on the fly, but it kind of just felt right after a bit.)

abilities, skills, et cetera

most of winter's skills are ones she scraped together out of necessity. most people don't tend to learn how to make poké balls... and after going home, winter almost didn't see the point either. until she realized that her handmade ultra balls somehow have a slightly higher effectiveness than modern ones. then she locked the fuck in.

(that's real, by the way! ultra balls in legends: arceus have a slightly higher catch rate (2.25x) than in main-line games (2x)!)

crafting is winter's primary marketable skill - she tends to sell at local markets every so often just to keep food on the table.

pokémon team

winter's full team was found and befriended during her time in hisui:

hextra - winter's partner 'mon and huge goober. frequent user of the Warm Cuddles Attack. hextra tends to be right beside winter whenever possible
pooltoy - very much appreciates that winter is #1 floatzel fan ever. tends to goof off when winter is busy
xat - winter's typical mode of transport - you ride on a pokémon's back once and a cramped vehicle just never feels right again! they're close friends, and xat is always quick to her side whenever something's wrong
mishelle - the alpha of the party, and everyone's favorite slip 'n' slide generator. she probably has a better time chilling out than guarding a lake cavern
faelet - a tiny little guy! probably the only entity capable of keeping winter's sleep schedule in check - by force, if necessary.
static - thinks he's the most important member of the party (only landed about six KOs over their entire adventure). clingy, staticky, and a frequent roadblock to Getting Out Of Bed
